The Met’s symposium on architecture is among our annual highlights; each year, it draws together architects, artists, photographers, writers, and filmmakers, to reflect on the previous year’s most significant projects, from built structures to digital environments. The January 2019 event, titled ‘In Our Time: A Year of Architecture in a Day’, was organised by The Met’s architecture and design curator, Beatrice Galilee. To mark our third year of support for the symposium, we collaborated with filmmaker Pedro Kok to explore three distinctive projects by architects who participated in the event: an art museum nestled in the Swiss Alps, a chapel commissioned by the Vatican for the Venice Biennale, and a reflection on an architecture of the future.
