Situated between the Outer Gardens of the Imperial Palace and bustling Tokyo Station, Aesop Shin-Marunouchi is a place of tranquil focus. The tectonic volumes of Adolf Loos’s Villa Müller in Prague, built in 1930, inspired our in-house designers in their approach to Japanese birch. Pristine panels interlock, stack, and rotate to create a dynamic and yet domestic atmosphere; the timber’s grain is celebrated as a graphic, textural element. Nickel-plated steel fixtures and an elongated, levitating light lend spectacle to the intimate scene.
