Aesop Palisades Village

Designed with Odami studio, Aesop Palisades Village borrows the vernacular of the area’s iconic architecture: houses that perch lightly within a cascading topography, their inside-outside boundaries blurred—views of the ocean framed by horizontal timber beams that appear to hover high above the terrain. Evoking the residences’ lush surroundings, a verdant garden lies at the heart of the store. Further blending exterior and interior, a substantial skylight allows ample sunshine to flood in onto the flourishing foliage. The shared basin, cast in green micro-cement, unfolds around the plants, blending into its leafy surrounds. Planes of reclaimed timber balance nimbly in the form of drawers, benches, and a tucked-away seat.
