Aesop Soho

Aesop Soho store interior

Chequered history meets enamelled order

Aesop Soho was created in partnership with long-term collaborators Cigüe, and features extensive use of enamel—an ancient technique now used in industrial applications. In this setting, it recalls the aesthetic of traditional workshops.

Rectangular white enamel sheets of various sizes are placed in haphazard arrangement over every surface, and secured with strong metal bolts. They also cover the suspended counter and the bench seats along one side of the retail area. Some of the sheets on the walls have been bent to form product display shelves.

A white porcelain sink fitted with industrial tapware rests on a black steel frame, which together with black accents on light fittings, heritage poles and ceiling details offer a graceful contrast to the pale palette. Rraw timber flooring speckled with paint effects softness and warmth.
