Aesop Jackson Square

Aesop Jackson Square store interior

Ingenuity in modest materiality

Our third signature store in San Francisco, situated in in the city’s historic waterfront district, was created in partnership with Tacklebox Architecture.

Fault lines within the area’s geological timeframe were key design influences, articulated through a prominent racked wall of plastered texture and form. Bracing, stiching and splicing the surface of the wall, 41 solid copper shelves bridge the in-between, alluding to the copper stills used in the adjacent Hotaling Building when it housed the West Coast’s largest whiskey repository.
