Our second Seattle signature store, situated in Capitol Hill, was created in collaboration with the Québécois architect Alain Carle. Like many of our stores, the design for the space began with the preservation of an original landmark façade and an interrogation of the site’s history.
Inspired by the stratified layers of built and natural forms that define Seattle’s topography, a refined arrangement of stacked horizontal planes forms a spatial framework. A mineral-grey palette prevails, offset by the Ayers Green Granite selected for the sink and countertops.
An exercise in artistic restraint and simplicity, the design speaks to an abiding ambition to create spaces that offer a sense of retreat and intimacy.
