Miami’s Aesop Coconut Grove was created in collaboration with architect Frida Escobedo, who was also responsible for our inaugural space in the city, Aesop Wynwood. The interior references the region’s relaxed, tropical environment, offering a space of calm respite and visual intrigue.
The design draws on symbols of repose befitting the climate. Elements of a traditional hammock are deconstructed, bone threads suspended across the front window and back wall to effect a moiré-like shade that sways in the breeze. The sink and counter are constructed with ribbed concrete hand-made by Mexican studio taller TORNEL, using cord to add texture.
‘Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.’
