Representing the third chapter of our story within the Taipei shopping centre of the same name—though the first in the A8 block—Aesop Mitsukoshi A8 was envisioned by our in-house Design team as an homage to the distinctive style of Taiwan’s late-20th-century libraries.
The ceiling plays an artistic tribute to their iconic open-stack concept, while the overall design aims to enhance social well-being through the harmonious interplay between individuals and their environment. Recreating the studious silence of the library within the bustling mall environment, generous carpeting hushes footsteps and instils a sense of tranquillity.
A soothing aura reminiscent of tea rooms delicately permeates the entire store, as a muted colour palette inspired by the steaming beverage infuses the space with warm, inviting tones. Wooden shelves echo the elegance of traditional tea ceremony trays, as does a product trapeze combining pressed tea leaves and resin—a creative fusion of nature and craftsmanship.
The ceramic tiles across the store facade add a touch of quiet sophistication. In this carefully composed space, trained consultants can recommend the products best suited to each customer’s individual needs.
