A light teal interior with marble fixtures int the middle. Aesop products placed on shelves on the side.

Washed out blue, sun-bleached wood, fibro shacks on stilts. Acrylic paint depictions of such coastal scenes were the inspiration for Aesop Indooroopilly on Jagera and Turrbal Country. Designed by our in-house architects, the store has a laid-back quality akin to the humble mid-century holiday houses that dot Queensland’s seaside suburbs. We welcome all assiduous beachgoers, discerning holidaymakers and sun-kissed faces to visit this enveloping retreat.

Upon entering the space, one is funnelled into an environment of stained plywood in a celadon hue. Repeating timber modules suggest the architectural language of simple Queenslander structures; the edges of the ply are left un-stained, articulating the laconic assembly in a playful manner. In the centre of the store’s first section, a quartet of basins clad in pale blue-green tiles accommodate explorations of our product range with gently running water.

These same tiles draw care-free feet further into the depths of the room, which opens into an expansive, rounded second chamber that might move patrons to inhabit a more contemplative state of mind. An individual basin is tucked to one side, providing privacy to those seeking in-depth consultations. With the help of the accompanying mirror, any saltwater residue can be rinsed off and skin care formulations applied directly onto one’s face. On the sand-hued couch, propped on ply-wood stilts, guests can take a moment of repose, sip a refreshing beverage, and muse on summers by the beach.

‘The manner of giving is worth more than the gift.’
