We are pleased to announce the recent donation of US$ 100,000, evenly divided between five organizations that support the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities. These non-profits—some active at the national level, others in a specific neighborhood—each focus on one of the issues taking a particular toll on AAPI lives. They were selected by our Anti-Racism Committee—a collective of BIPOC employees that also helps ensure the AAPI Aesopians in our midst are duly heard and represented.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Asian Law Caucus promotes, advances, and represents the legal and civil rights of AAPI communities. Recognizing that social, economic, political and racial inequalities continue to exist in the United States, the group is committed to the pursuit of equality and justice for all, with a specific focus on addressing the needs of low-income, immigrant and underserved AAPIs.

The National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum is focused on building power with AAPI women and girls to influence critical decisions that affect their lives, their families and their communities. Using a reproductive justice framework, the group elevates AAPI women and girls to impact policy and drive systemic change in the United States. 

Asian Mental Health Collective’s mission is to normalize and de-stigmatize mental health within the Asian community. It aspires to make mental health easily available, approachable, and accessible to Asian communities worldwide. The group believes in integrating shared backgrounds with the progressive ideals of emotional well-being and mental health—expressing collectivist ideals while respecting the agency of the individual.

Vancouver Chinatown Foundation was founded to honor a culture and community established in Vancouver more than 100 years ago. Their vision is of a prosperous, vibrant, and inclusive Chinatown, where people come to live, work and play. The Foundation is dedicated to building a more resilient and inclusive community by promoting the wellbeing of those in need while preserving Chinatown’s irreplaceable cultural heritage.

Heart of Dinner works to fight food insecurity and isolation experienced by Asian-American seniors in New York—two long-standing community issues heightened by the pandemic. The group now serves over 1,500 elders in Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, delivering weekly hot lunches, fresh produce, and bulk ingredients while supporting local small businesses.
