Katherine Mansfield
Katherine Mansfield is considered one of the greats of modernist literature. Born and raised in New Zealand, she displayed an early gift for poetry and short-story writing.
She moved to Britain at the age of 19, where she mixed with acclaimed writers including Virginia Woolf.
Mansfield was always innovative and expansive in her focus, writing about the vagaries of war, the procession of time and the dynamics of identity and family—pushing the boundaries of form and style to glittering effect.
