Frieze New York, 2018

A year of debuts

Campaign for Frieze New York 2018. Photography: Clément Pascal. Art Direction: Amy Preston and Valentine Ammeux.

Frieze New York, held annually on Randall’s Island, draws some of the world’s most innovative and stirring artists, both established and emerging. A diverse exhibition of art, readings, music, ideas and more, this year’s fair draws its theme from the striking and quotidian Lunch Poems by Frank O’Hara, his ode to New York.

The fair marks the first New York edition under Loring Randolph, the new Artistic Director for the Americas. Alongside this exciting debut comes another: 2018 is the first year in which the Frieze Artist Award will be given in New York. For the award, Kapwani Kiwanga, a Paris-based artist and anthropologist, will construct a large-scale, imposing structure on Randall’s Island exploring freedom of movement and architectures of exclusion.

It is our pleasure to partner once again with Frieze New York for the 2018 Frieze Art Fair.
