The Portland Institute for Contemporary Art
Time-Based Art Festival:18

At this time, all complimentary passes have been secured, but please find purchasable tickets on PICA’s website.

For ten days in September, the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art will activate the city with visual and performative engagements. Known for championing artists who challenge creative norms through the inventive reworking of their mediums, Time-Based Art Festival:18 is a feast of live performances, music, screenings, workshops, talks, and visual art installations.

The festival takes place from morning until night in over 15 locations across Portland. Some of the works to be showcased include an ekphrastic long-form prose poem conceived in the wake of violence against marginalized peoples, others include stories about food, family, and identity told by nonbinary people of color, some are meditative and transcendent choreographies.

It is a pleasure to be among the audiences of TBA:18 and to offer double passes to the Late Night programs. As passes are limited, please swiftly express your interest.
