Singapore recently welcomed its third Aesop signature store, in Suntec City.
Contrasting the city’s persistent heat, the design - by Melbourne’s Kerstin Thompson Architects - references cooling themes and elements. A sophisticated winter suit served as muse for the material palette: muted greys, felt, flannel, Blackened steel and cement coalesce to create a restrained and refreshing aesthetic.
Display cabinets offer discreet glimpses of colour, reminiscent of the silk lining of an impeccably tailored coat. Perforated auburn timber screens dress the store’s facade, folding inward to flter sunlight and welcome passers-by into the cool, calming interior.
Customers can explore and select from Aesop’s complete range of skin, hair and body care products, distinguished by botanical and laboratory-generated ingredients of the highest quality. The store’s trained consultants are able to offer advice about products best suited to individual needs.
Aesop was founded in Melbourne in 1987 and today offers its superlative skin, hair and body care products in signature stores around the world. As the company evolves, meticulously considered design remains paramount to the creation of each space.
