Where will the Frieze Sculpture debut this year?
Opportunity has now closed
Hosted annually on New York’s Randall’s Island, Frieze New York gathers hundreds of galleries from 26 countries, transforming the small city island into a transnational, cultural feast. Since its inception in 2011, Frieze New York has been committed to expanding the conversations that surround art through diverse programming, welcoming new and established artists alike.
Keeping with its tradition of creating platforms for discovery, Frieze New York 2019 has dedicated a section of the Fair to Latin American art entitled Diálogos, curated by Patrick Charpenel and Susanna V. Temkin of El Museo del Barrio. The show will champion generations of artists across a variety of mediums and identities. The Fair is also teaming new curators with leading museum directors to curate exhibitions dedicated to exploring the boundaries of virtual reality.
In a Fair first, the Frieze Sculpture will find a new home at Rockefeller Center, debuting at the end of April in anticipation of the event opening. Featuring works from fourteen artists, many of whom have never been publicly displayed in New York, this year’s Frieze Sculpture will become Rockefeller Center’s largest art display to date.
