Aesop Gurney Plaza

Our inaugural George Town signature store is a meditation on contrast—the built and natural, the concealed and the exposed, the robust and the soft. Situated within the Gurney Plaza retail complex, the space was created by the company’s in-house Design Department. The interior is framed by a structure of tessellating steel supports, which stretch floor to ceiling and wrap the walls to recall an exoskeleton or refined scaffolding. Forest-green wool-covered walls effect a pleasing softness in contrast to the solid, angular forms of the demonstration sinks and sales counter.
