Since 2011, Bildrausch Filmfest Basel has served up a yearly cornucopia of cinematic delights in an intimate setting. Its selection showcases film as an art form that can both trigger aesthetic pleasure and shed new light on the world we live in. It is also a forum for encounters and discussions, with numerous lectures, workshops and roundtables, and even a Filmmakers’ Dinner where cineastes break bread with audience members.
We are offering our customers a chance to attend the screening of their choice at any of the festival’s venues (the full programme is available online), as well as a conversation with Italian documentary filmmaker Gianfranco Rosi. For the recently released Notturno, Rosi spent months roaming Kurdistan at night, chronicling the seldom-told stories of the men and women he encountered along the way. The discussion will feature excerpts from his film and will be followed by an aperitif—courtesy of Aesop.
To claim a voucher for a screening (to be picked up at Aesop Spalenberg) and reserve a seat for the discussion, simply reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org. As the number of available passes is strictly limited, they will be awarded to the swiftest respondents. (Please note that the venue and time cited are for the conversation with Gianfranco Rosi.)
‘The human skin of things, the dermis of reality: this is what film is primarily concerned with.’
