We are delighted to let you know of our first major print publication, which offers glimpses of Aesop’s three-decade journey, holistic approach and distinctive spaces. Published by Rizzoli New York, this hardback volume comprises exquisite photographs and archival images. In complement, an installation created with material samples from four Hong Kong stores is on display at Aesop Hysan Place. You are warmly invited to visit the store between 25 October and 3 November to experience our unique approach to design.
In designing new spaces, our first consideration is to work with what already exists. It is our intention to weave ourselves into the fabric of place and add something of merit rather than impose a discordant presence, and our consistent practice to use a locally relevant design vocabulary.
The stores featured in the installation include Aesop ifc Mall, which deploys locally sourced cork as the primary material; Aesop Harbour City, characterised by a monolithic sculptural piece constructed in-situ from pebble wash; Aesop Gough Street, which creates an illusive ground-scape through the use of glass bricks hovering on steel legs; and Aesop K11, defined by cloud-like forms carved from granite across the walls.
You are warmly invited to view this temporary showcase, and to experience other local spaces at leisure. We are also pleased to advise that the Aesop Book is now available at all signature stores as well as Aesop Online.
